Hammer Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Henry F. Hammer was a co-owner of the Hammer-Sommer Auto Carriage Company until 1904 . After its dissolution, he founded the company in Detroit , Michigan in 1905 . Investors were Foster W. Allen, Harry W. Nichols and Leon J. Paszski. They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Hammer . Production ended in the same year.

Only one model was on offer. Compared to the previous vehicles from Hammer-Sommer, it was much larger, more powerfully motorized and accordingly more expensive. A four-cylinder engine with 24 hp was mounted in the front of the vehicle and drove the rear axle. The chassis had a wheelbase of 254 cm . The only known structure was an open touring car with five seats.
