Ideal Electric Vehicle Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1910 in Chicago , Illinois . John H. Ryerson was President, HH Peterson was Vice President, and Carl J. Holdredge was Secretary and Manager. They started producing automobiles in the same year. The brand name was Ideal , possibly with the addition of Electric . Plans totaled 500 vehicles. Ryerson committed suicide on May 16, 1910. Production ended in 1911.

Bruce Borland of the Borland-Grannis Company took over the company in 1912.

There were several US manufacturers of Ideal branded passenger vehicles : Ideal Automobile Manufacturing Company , Richmond & Holmes Company , B. & P. ​​Company , Ideal Motor Vehicle Company , Ideal Runabout Manufacturing Company , Bethlehem Automobile Company , Ideal Electric Vehicle Company, Ideal Shop and Bethlehem Motor Truck Company .
