Monarch Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

PJ Dasey advertised his vehicle as early as 1903, although at that time he was unable to start production in Chicago , Illinois . In 1905 he moved to Aurora , Illinois, and started the company there. EB Overshiner was President, DW Simpson Vice President, William George Treasurer, Frank Doussang Secretary, and AB McCord General Manager. In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Monarch . In 1906 the company went bankrupt , but it was survived. That year George and McCord were also associated with the Emancipator Automobile Company in the same town. Production ended in the summer of 1908.

Other US manufacturers of passenger cars of the brand Monarch were Milwaukee Motor Manufacturing Company , Monarch Motor Car Company (Illinois) , Monarch Machine Company and Monarch Motor Car Company (Michigan) .

The only model was a runabout . It had an air-cooled single cylinder engine with 7 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 173 cm . It was initially steered with a steering lever and only from 1907 with a steering wheel .
