Cleveland Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
William L. Colt started manufacturing vehicles as early as 1905. He only founded the company in September 1906. The headquarters and factory were initially in Cleveland , Ohio . In 1907 the company relocated to New York City . However, plans to relocate the factory to Milwaukee were not implemented. The production of automobiles ran from 1905 to 1909. The brand name was Cleveland . A total of around 1000 vehicles were built.

The vehicles of the first model year were the successors to the Meteor . All models had four-cylinder engines .
1905 there was the Model C . Its engine developed 18 hp . The wheelbase was 231 cm. Superstructures were runabouts and touring cars .
1906 from the Model D . The engine output has been increased to 20 hp. The wheelbase remained unchanged. The touring car was canceled. In addition, the Model F was introduced that year . It had a 30/35 hp engine. The chassis had a wheelbase of 264 cm. Touring cars and double phaeton have survived .
In 1907 the weaker engine was discontinued. The vehicle with the 30/35 hp engine and 264 cm wheelbase was available as a model FH as a speed car and as a model H as a touring car and limousine .
In 1908 the 40/45 PS was in the range. The model name was an indication of the engine power. The wheelbase was 310 cm. Touring cars, runabouts and limousines were available as bodies.
In 1909 the sedan was discontinued. In the runabout, the wheelbase was shortened to 286 cm.
