Ben Hur Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

LL Allyn founded the company in Willoughby , Ohio in 1916 . He started producing automobiles that were marketed as Ben-Hur . By February 1918, around 30 to 40 vehicles were built. At that time the production capacity was 20 vehicles per day, but plans were limited to 5 to 10 vehicles per week. Bankruptcy followed in May 1918 .

The designer was BP Bagby, who founded the Midwest Motor Company after the bankruptcy of the Ben-Hur Motor Company .

Ben-Hur Six

The only model was the Six . He had a six-cylinder engine of Buda with 29 hp power. The chassis had a wheelbase of 320 cm . There was a choice of four-seat roadster , seven-seat touring car and seven-seat touring limousine .
