Bantam Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1914 in Boston , Massachusetts . In the same year the production of automobiles began. To this end, part of the Lenox Motor Company's plant was rented. The brand name was Bantam . The designer was Frank J. Tyler, who previously worked for Maxwell-Briscoe . Production also ended in 1914. Overall, not many vehicles were made.

The only model is called a cyclecar , although it does not meet the criteria. It had an air-cooled V2 engine with 89 mm bore , 94 mm stroke , 1182 cm³ displacement and 10.5 kW (14 hp ) power, friction gear and chain drive. The curb weight was given as 454 kg. The chassis had a wheelbase of 218 cm and a track width of 117 cm . The open two-seater body had only one door on the right side.
