Sharp Arrow Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

William H. Sharp designed a racing car in 1908 . In December 1908 he founded the company in Trenton , New Jersey . His brother Fred, FW Bennett, JR Farlee and AN Yetter were his partners. In the same year the production of automobiles began in a plant of the Walter Automobile Company . The brand name was Sharp Arrow . In January 1910 it was announced that the International Boiler Company would participate and increase production at its own plant in Stroudsburg , Pennsylvania . As far as is known, this did not happen.

In November 1910, Sharp died in a racing accident. Production ended with that. A total of around 25 vehicles were built.

All cars had a four-cylinder engine . Each 127 mm bore and stroke resulted in 6435 cm³ displacement . The engine output was specified as 40 hp .

From 1908 to 1909 there was a shorter and a longer model. The shorter one had a 269 ​​cm wheelbase chassis . Superstructures were a speedabout with two seats and a runabout with three seats. The longer chassis had a 295 cm wheelbase. It was available as a four-seat toy tonneau and a five-seat touring car .

In 1910 the only change was that the wheelbase of the longer model was extended by 10 cm to 305 cm.
