Marinette Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Harry Thayer had gained experience in vehicle construction at T. Neville & Company until 1907 . That year he founded the Thayer Automobile Company in Marinette , Wisconsin , manufacturing accessories for automobiles. He also made a prototype . He convinced the Marinette Iron Manufacturing Company to join him in automotive production. For this purpose, the Marinette Automobile Company was founded in November 1907 . The production of automobiles began. The brand name was Thayer . Production ended in December 1908. On December 1, 1908, it went bankrupt . In total, only a few vehicles were built.

Thayer then ran the Thayer Isham Motor Car Company with a partner named Isham . This was a car dealership for Maxwell Motor Company and Studebaker Corporation vehicles . All of the Thayer companies mentioned were based in Marinette.

Another source mentions the Thayer Isham Automobile Company . The daily newspaper The Daily Eagle Star reported on March 4, 1909 that the Thayer Isham Auto Co. , the first automobile manufacturer was from Marinette.
