Hol-Tan Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

ER Hollander as well as CH and GP Tangeman have worked together since 1902. They imported Fiat vehicles to the United States. It was not until January 1906 that they officially founded the Hol-Tan Company as a car dealership . The seat was in New York City . In November 1907 Fiat SpA terminated the agreement. The background was the impending establishment of the Fiat Automobile Company .

Hol-Tan then announced that it would only offer American-made vehicles. Shawmut Motor Company vehicles have survived. In addition, a few automobiles with the own brand name Hol-Tan were built in 1908 . From 1909 vehicles were sold by Delaunay-Belleville and Lancia and from 1911 by the SGV Company .

It is not known when the company was dissolved.

The chassis came from Moon . They had a four-cylinder engine with 25 hp . The wheelbase was 279 cm or 307 cm, depending on the version. The body manufacturers Demarest , Locke and Quinby made some bodies. Touring cars and roadsters were available. The original price of $ 3,000 is said to be high.
