Wright Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in New Cumberland , Pennsylvania in 1910 . Participants were Thomas F. Rodgers and Ernest M. Brennan, who were from Corning , New York , and local business people. Among them was a JW Wright. It is unclear whether the name was chosen after him or after the Wright brothers . Rodgers became president and Brennan became vice president. Ansel Stryker was also busy. In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Wright. Rodgers moved back to Corning early. Brennan and Stryker also left the company. J. Frank Bobb then became factory manager. Production ended in 1911. A total of six vehicles were built.

Many parts were bought in. Some were delivered late. Others didn't fit. The four-cylinder engine came from Waukesha Engines . It made 20 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 330 cm , so it was very long. The structure was an open touring car . The vehicle is described as underpowered.
