Continental Automobile Manufacturing Company , formerly University Automobile Company , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The University Automobile Company was founded in New Haven , Connecticut in 1907 . CS Johnston, Constant A. Moeller and Frank J. Schollhorn were involved. They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Continental . In 1908 the name was changed to Continental Automobile Manufacturing Company . Production ended that same year.

There were three models with four-cylinder engines on offer .

The Model A had a chassis with a 254 cm wheelbase and a body as a runabout . The engine developed 25 hp .

The Model B was 284 cm wheelbase longer. The body structure was a tonneau . The engine output was 30 hp.

The Model C was 305 cm the longest wheelbase. The vehicle was bodied as an open touring car. The engine developed 35 hp.
