Phipps Electric Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Joel G. Phipps had already gained experience in automobile construction with the Phipps-Grinnell Automobile Company . After its dissolution, he founded his own company in Detroit , Michigan in 1912 . He started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Phipps , possibly with the addition of Electric . Production ended in the same year.

Electric cars were on offer . The chassis had a wheelbase of 272 cm and was therefore much longer than the Phipps-Grinnell models. The construction was a brougham .
