Light Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in Detroit , Michigan in 1913 . Automobile production began in October of the same year. The brand name was Light . Production ended in 1914.

One source speculates that the name Light comes from one of the owners, because the vehicles could not be called light (Light).

The vehicles were designated as the 1914 model year .

The only model was the Six . It had a six-cylinder engine with L-head and 30 hp power. The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a three-speed gearbox and a cardan shaft .

The chassis had a 292 cm wheelbase . There was a choice of three different structures. These were roadsters , demi- tonneau and touring cars . The new prices were between 1050 and 1250 US dollars .
