Erie Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded on April 20, 1916 in Painesville , Ohio . Frank Meket was President, WE Brown General Manager, and H. Percy Secretary and Treasurer. Percy was previously a sales agent for the Vulcan Manufacturing Company . They took over Vulcan and repaired these vehicles. In addition, the production of own automobiles began. The brand name was Erie . During the First World War , trucks were also made . Production ended in 1919.

There was no association with the Erie Motor Carriage and Manufacturing Company , which used the same brand name a few years earlier.

The vehicles had a water-cooled four - cylinder engine with 33 hp . The chassis had a 300 cm wheelbase . Model 33 was bodied as a five-seater touring car and Model 34 as a two-seater roadster .

At the end of 1919 a much more expensive four-cylinder model was announced, but apparently no longer in production.
