Kurtz Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Cyrus B. Kurtz had developed a preselector . In the summer of 1920 he founded the vehicle production company. The seat was in Cleveland , Ohio . Production began in the same year. The brand name was Kurtz Automatic . In 1922 the plans amounted to 600 vehicles. Vehicle production ended in 1925.

The selection was bought by the Apperson Brothers Automobile Company and Haynes Automobile Company .

Most of the vehicles had a six-cylinder engine of Herschell-Spillman . The Model A was available from 1920 to 1922 . Here the engine made 55 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 310 cm . There was a choice of touring cars with five seats, roadsters with two seats, coupé with three seats, a sporty sedan with four seats and another sedan with five seats.

The Model 65 followed in 1923 . The engine output was now given as 75 hp. The wheelbase was still 310 cm. Touring cars with five and seven seats, roadsters with two seats, brougham with four seats and sedans with five seats have been handed down.

In 1924 only the superstructure changed. The five-seat touring car and the two-seat roadster were taken over. New were a two- and a four-door sedan with five seats and another sedan with seven seats.

A new model was announced for 1925, but only three of them were made. An eight-cylinder engine from Lycoming powered vehicles. The wheelbase was 353 cm. The four-wheel brakes were new.
