Company history
The company was founded in November 1921 in Kansas City , Missouri . HD Taylor was President, GH Clevidence Vice President, Ross H. Rheem Treasurer, and Robert H. Campbell was the Sales Agent and Chief Engineer. The Severin Motor Car Company from the same city is considered the predecessor . In 1922 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Metropolitan . Production ended in 1923.

In 1922 there was only the M-61 model . It was created from parts that had been taken over from Severin. A six-cylinder engine with 60 hp powered the vehicles. The chassis had a 311 cm wheelbase . There was a choice of a five-seat touring car for 1500 US dollars and a five-seat sedan for 2000 dollars.
In 1923 the self-developed model M-41 appeared . It had a four-cylinder engine with 40 hp. A 66.675 mm bore and 101.66 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 1419 cc . The wheelbase was 254 cm or 274 cm, depending on the source. Five-seat touring cars and two-seat roadsters were $ 600. There were also closed superstructures for $ 700. These were a five-seat sedan and a two-seat coupe . The curb weight was given as around 725 kg.
Plans for the higher-priced M-81 model with an eight-cylinder engine could no longer be implemented.
