Pan Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Samuel Conner Pandolfo was originally an insurance agent and teacher in the Southwestern United States . He moved to Minnesota . In January 1917 he founded the company in St. Cloud . In March he bought a lot of land and in June he started building a factory. The first six vehicles were made for him at Wayne Motor Works in Indianapolis . On July 4th, United States Independence Day , he hosted a barbecue on the premises and demonstrated one of these six vehicles. 70,000 visitors came. Pandolfo hoped for investors in this way. The original price of the vehicles was initially $ 1,000 and $ 1,250 from the summer of 1918. In 1919 the factory was finished. In the same year there were problems with the authorities. Because until then, Pandolfo had only sold shares, but not manufactured any vehicles. He was sentenced to ten years in prison.

In March 1919, the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Pan . Now around two vehicles were built per day. Production ended in 1921. Bankruptcy began in October 1922 . Everything was auctioned in August 1922.

Two sources agree that 737 vehicles were manufactured.

The first six (or ten) vehicles from Indianapolis had engines from the Continental Motors Company .

The vehicles from March 1919 had a self-made six-cylinder engine with a displacement of 4076 cm³ . It made 50 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 274 cm . The structure was an open touring car with space for five people.
