Severin Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles . The company name Severin Motor Company can be found in advertisements .

Company history

Homer T. Severin had been a car salesman since 1906. In 1920 he founded the company in Kansas City , Missouri . JF Platt became vice president. In July 1920 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Severin . Problems arose in the summer of 1921. Severin tried to move the seat to Oakland , California . That didn't work. In 1920 121 vehicles were built and 113 in the following year.

In 1921 the company was dissolved. The successor company Mohawk Motor Company went bankrupt within a month and was taken over by Metropolitan Motors . Metropolitan first assembled other vehicles of the same type from existing parts and then another model.

Only Model H was on offer . It had a type 9 N six cylinder engine from the Continental Motors Company . It made 65 hp . The chassis had a 311 cm wheelbase . The only body structure was an open touring car with five seats. The original price was 2400 US dollars in the first year and 2,550 US dollars in the second year.
