Falcon Motor Corporation was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in Detroit , Michigan in 1927 . It belonged to Willys-Overland . President was John A. Nichols, who previously worked for Dodge . The plant was located in Elyria , Ohio . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Falcon-Knight . In the beginning, 60 vehicles were made every day. The 3,000th vehicle was completed on May 31, 1927. In December 1927, Nichols announced that 10,000 vehicles had been ordered during the first nine months of production. In 1927 5719 vehicles were built and in 1928 another 5322. In January 1929 only individual vehicles were assembled from existing parts. Willys-Overland then used the plant for the body shop.

In the beginning there was the Model 10 .

The facelift led to the Model 12 . It was supposed to fill the gap in the Willys supply between the Whippet and the Willys-Knight . A six-cylinder - valve engine with 45 hp power powered vehicles. The chassis had a wheelbase of 278 cm . There was a choice of coupe with two seats, Brougham with four seats, two- and four-door sedans with five seats and a roadster called Gray Ghost .

A blue limousine from the dissolved Aalholm Automobile Collection in Denmark was auctioned for 123,200 Danish Krone in 2012 . A 1927 Touring Model 10 sold for £ 28,750 in 2013 . This vehicle has the chassis number 11400.
