Stanwood Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The company was founded in 1920 in St. Louis , Missouri . ND Thompson Jr. was President, LW Cranshaw Secretary, Leslie H. Thompson Treasurer, John D. Lazar Production Manager, Norman Daut Advertising Manager, and Fred H. Berger Chief Engineer. They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Stanwood . Production ended in 1922.
The company produced 303 vehicles in the first year of production. In the following year there were 178 and last year 161. That’s a total of 642 vehicles. Another source estimates 250 to 300 vehicles in the total time.

There was only one basic model on offer. Many parts were bought in. The 55 hp engine came from the Continental Motors Company . It was a type 7 R six-cylinder engine . The power transmission came from Grant-Lees and the clutch from Borg & Beck . The chassis had a 300 cm wheelbase .
In 1920 there was the Model A-20 . The structure was an open touring car with five seats.
The A-21 model followed in 1921 .
In 1922 it became the Model A-22 . A roadster with three seats and a sedan with four seats complemented the body versions on offer. One source says the sedan was offered but not manufactured.
