Rock Falls Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

The company was founded in Sterling , Illinois in 1878 . It initially produced carriages and hearses . Motorized hearses were added in 1909. In 1919 EG Brookfield was President and WH Thomas was Chief Engineer. In that year the production of passenger cars began . The brand name was Rock Falls . Production ended in 1925. A total of around 50 cars were built.

Car

The first model had a six-cylinder engine of Buda with 52 hp power. The chassis had a wheelbase of 343 cm . The bodies were mostly sedans .

Later the vehicles had a six-cylinder engine from the Continental Motors Company . At first it was of the Type 9 A and made 73 hp and later the Type 6 T with 70 hp. The wheelbase was initially 345 cm and later 335 cm.

Some vehicles were bodied as roadsters and touring cars at the customer's request .
