CT Silver Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Conover Thomas Silver was a car salesman. Initially he was based in Brooklyn and sold Buick . In 1913 he was a dealer for Willys-Overland and Peerless in the New York area. In January 1914, he bought a building on Broadway in New York City . It was there that he ran the company. In addition to trading, individual automobiles were also created. The brand name was Silver , often with an addition. In August 1916 the trade with Chalmers was added and in 1917 Apperson and Kissel . Production ended in 1919. Silver gave up the business.

Silver designed special bodies on the chassis of the brands he sold.

The Silver Knight was created in 1914 based on a Willys Knight . This was followed by a silver peerless . The Silver Overland had space for six people and cost 2200 US dollars .

In 1918 the Silver Apperson came on the market. It was presented and highly acclaimed at the New York Automobile Show . Apperson adopted some design elements for its vehicles.

Silver-Kissel or Kissel Silver Special existed from 1918 to 1919.
