American Motors Export Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Canadian Henry L. Innes gained experience in the automotive industry at various companies. Until 1920 he was with the Simms Motor Car Corporation . He then started his own company in Jacksonville , Florida . In the same year the production of automobiles, which were especially intended for export, began. The brand name was Innes . The death of Innes on August 16, 1921 brought production to a standstill. At least six vehicles were built.

In 1922 the Hanson Motor Company took over the company.

The vehicles were similar to the Simms. The vehicles were powered by a four-cylinder , 40- horsepower engine from Supreme Motors Corporation . The chassis had a wheelbase of 290 cm .
