Prado Motors Corporation was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in New York City in 1921 . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Prado . Production ended in 1922. In total, fewer than ten vehicles were built.

The drive was unusual. It was a revised version of the Curtiss OX-5 aero engine . The V8 engine was specified with 90 hp . 101.6 mm bore and 127 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 8237 cc .

In the first year the chassis was made of steel . In the second year, many parts were replaced by aluminum . This brought a reduction in the curb weight from around 1769 kg to around 1440 kg. The wheelbase was 361 cm.

There was a choice between open and closed structures that were manufactured according to customer requirements. A three-seater Deluxe Speedster has been handed down to be particularly sporty.
