CWB Sports Automobiles Ltd. was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Charles Wakefield Bishop was a student at Yale University . He founded the company in New Haven , Connecticut in 1927 . He manufactured four automobiles from 1927 to 1929. The brand name was CWB .

A second source gives the construction period as 1927 to 1930, and a third as 1928.

vehicles

The first vehicle was called SF . It consisted of parts of different origins. The four-cylinder engine came from the Ford Model T , the suspension from a Buick and the tank from an American Fiat .

The second vehicle was Wendy . A box girder frame with a 305 cm wheelbase formed the basis. A six-cylinder engine from the Continental Motors Company powered the vehicle. The tank was from a Pierce Arrow . The grille was similar to the first model.

The third vehicle followed in 1928. The chassis had a 366 cm wheelbase. It was designed in the underslung style at the rear .

The fourth vehicle was called the Tiger . The wheelbase was only 275 cm.

Vehicle number 5 with front-wheel drive in the style of the French Tracta and two rear axles was not completed.
