The company made a name for itself in particular with the introduction of front-wheel drive in cars. Initially only racing cars were made, but street versions were soon also made. The front-wheel drive independent front suspension was based on Grégoire patents. Initially, engines from the French manufacturer SCAP with a displacement of 1100, 1200, 1500 or 1600 cm³ were used . If desired, a was Cozette - compressor available. The rigid rear axle was suspended from quarter-elliptical leaf springs.

Tracta attracted attention in 1929 with a class win at the Le Mans 24-hour race (7th overall). About 140 vehicles with SCAP engines were made. Then the company focused on the production of closed automobiles for the upscale market. Six-cylinder engines were now used: with 2.7 liters displacement from the US manufacturer Continental or with 3 or 3.3 liters from Hotchkiss . Around 90 of these vehicles were built.

1934 began the sale of licenses to exploit the Grégoire patents. These were acquired by the Belgian Automobiles Imperia , the French company Automobiles L. Rosengart and the two German companies Zschopauer Motorenwerke (brand DKW ) and Adlerwerke .
