Company history

The brothers Léonce and Camille Bobrie founded the company in Saumur in 1907 to manufacture bicycles and sell Berliet vehicles. Around the same year, the production of automobiles began in small numbers. The brand name was La Torpille . Production ended in 1923 when the brothers separated. Twelve automobiles were produced up to the First World War , and then again about the same amount. There was no connection to Perrin et Cie , which also offered vehicles as La Torpille .

vehicles

The company manufactured small cars. The vehicles offered space for two people in a row. The chassis came from Arbel . The front axle was an in-house development. Various four-cylinder engines provided the drive . First of all, Aster engines with a capacity of 1323 cc and Ballot engines with either 6 or 8 control horsepower are mentioned .

From 1919 there were also body structures with two seats next to each other. Now there was a choice of engines from Ballot with 1950 cm³ displacement, from SCAP with 1690 cm³ displacement and from Fivet with 6/8 control horsepower. The last vehicle had a chassis from Malicet & Blin and a built-in engine from SCAP with 12 taxable horsepower.
