Voiturettes Le Métais was a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Louis Le Métais founded the company in Levallois-Perret in 1904 and began producing automobiles. The brand name was Le Métais . His sisters-in-law Henri Godefroy and Émile Godefroy were also involved. Production ended in 1910. Henri Godefroy then founded GEP with Levêque Godefroy et Levêque and Émile Godefroy founded GEP in 1913

vehicles

Initially there were single-cylinder models with built-in engines from De Dion-Bouton . A dedicated engine was used in the 9 CV model . The vehicles were equipped with a friction or friction gear and also took part in car races from 1906 to 1908. From 1907 models with two-cylinder engines and four-cylinder engines were manufactured by Gnôme et Rhône .

A vehicle that has survived was exhibited in the Museon di Rodo in Uzès in 1980 .
