Eugène Brillié merged with Gustave Gobron in 1898 and founded the engine company Gobron-Brillié . Brillié had also developed and built a special type of explosion engine as an opposed piston engine : in each cylinder, two opposed pistons work on two crankshafts at opposite ends of the engine.

In 1903, Eugène Brillié separated from Gobron and founded his own company in Paris. However, production, which began in 1904, took place in the workshops of Schneider & Cie. held in Le Havre . Schneider became the main shareholder of Brillié. In 1905 Brillié installed the first commercial vehicle drive with cardan shaft in a bus, with a band brake on the hubs of the rear wheels as a special feature . In 1906 the first public buses were delivered to Paris.

In February 1908 the company went into liquidation . That was the end of car production. Schneider continued commercial vehicle production under the direction of Eugène Brillié and used its own brand name. In March 1914 Schneider sold his shares to Somua -Nutzfahrzeug-Gesellschaft.

Passenger cars

From 1904 the 20/24 CV Type G and 35/45 CV Type H models were available . The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The transmission had four gears.
