Bolide was the brand name of a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company Léon Lefèbvre & Cie. from Paris , which had already gained experience in automobile construction with the Léo , began again with the production of automobiles in 1899. In 1905 the company was renamed Société l'Auto-Réparation when the owner Léon Lefèbvre left the company to found Automobiles Prima . Production ended in 1907.

At the beginning there were two large two-cylinder models 8 CV with 2090 cm³ displacement and 16 CV with 5298 cm³ displacement and the four-cylinder model 40 CV with 11,692 cm³ displacement. Snoeck from Belgium produced these vehicles under license . From 1902, built-in motors from Aster , De Dion-Bouton and Tony Huber were used. The four-cylinder models 12 CV and 22 CV and the six-cylinder model 35 CV , which had a cardan drive , were produced.

Two vehicles of this brand occasionally take part in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run .
