The Société Générale des Automobiles Porthos was a French automobile manufacturer .

Company history

The Billancourt company started producing automobiles in 1906. The brand name was Porthos . The liquidation followed in 1909 . Vehicles were built again between 1912 and 1914.

The first 24/30 CV model was equipped with a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 4560 cm³ . In 1907 the six-cylinder models 50 CV with 6838 cc and 60 CV with 8138 cc were added. In the same year a racing car with an eight-cylinder engine with a displacement of 10857 cm³ was used in car races.

From 1912 the range consisted of the four-cylinder models 16/20 CV with 3183 cm³ displacement and 24/30 CV with 4560 cm³ displacement as well as the six-cylinder models 20/25 CV with 4775 cm³ displacement and 30/40 CV with 6838 cm³ displacement. In 1913 the 14 CV with a displacement of 3306 cm³ was added to the range. In 1914 the 10 CV appeared with a four-cylinder engine and 2000 cc displacement.
