Auguste Chambon was a French manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Auguste Chambon founded the company that bore his name in Lyon in the 1900s to manufacture vehicle parts. He made gears , differentials and machines . Automobile construction began in 1912. The brand name was Chambon . Automobile production ended in 1914. A total of around 20 vehicles were built. After the First World War , tractors were built . In 1925 it merged with the motorcycle manufacturer Établissements Rhony'x .
Automobiles
The company produced medium-sized vehicles. A four-cylinder engine , which was presumably obtained from Luc Court , provided the drive . A 70 mm bore and 140 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 2154 cm³ . The four-speed gearbox was mounted on the rear axle.
A vehicle was created as a one-off for a doctor in the area. Here two four-cylinder engines were arranged side by side. The open body offered space for six people. The maximum speed was given as 110 km / h.
