Automobiles G. Brouhot & Cie was a French manufacturer of automobiles and engines .
Company history
Charles Brouhot ran a farm manufacturing company in Vierzon in the 1890s . In 1898 he founded Automobiles G. Brouhot & Cie as an independent company , also in Vierzon. Automobile production ended in 1911. The main company went into liquidation in 1914 . Société Française de Vierzon took over the company.
Models
The first model had a horizontal two-cylinder engine in the rear. In 1903 there was the two-cylinder model 10 CV and the four-cylinder models 15 CV and 20 CV with stationary engines and chain drive . Four-cylinder models with 10 to 60 hp followed later . In 1906 the two-cylinder model 8 CV with cardan drive appeared . The last new model 9 CV appeared in 1908.
A vehicle of this brand can be seen in the Musée Auto Moto Vélo in Châtellerault .
motor race
In 1903 the race from Paris to Madrid took place. Brouhot made a one-off racing car and took part. The engine had a displacement of 8013 cm³ and made 40 hp. The vehicle had an accident near Angoulême . In addition to the mechanic, two spectators died. Thereupon Brouhot gave up the automobile sport.
Engines
Ateliers P. Sage and Elswick Motor used Brouhot built-in motors .
