The SA des Automobiles La Ponette was a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Société des Automobiles La Ponette was founded in Chevreuse in 1909 for automobile production. The brand name was La Ponette . Around 1920 it was converted into a stock corporation and moved to Clichy . Production ended in 1925.

The first model 8 CV had a single cylinder engine with 827 cm³ displacement , which had the cooler behind the engine as a special feature, similar to the early Renault . Light two-seater bodies were used. 1912 was followed by a larger model with a four-cylinder engine of Ballot with 1460 cc capacity. The 8 CV was discontinued in 1913 .

After the First World War , only four-cylinder models were made, the engines of which came from Ballot and SCAP and had a displacement between 1700 and 2890 cm³.

A vehicle of this brand is in the car museum vintage cars in Reninge in Belgium to visit.
