Maurice Jeanson was a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company from Asnières-sur-Seine started producing automobiles in 1921. The brand name was initially Benjamin , from 1927 Benova . Production ended in 1931.

Benjamin

The first 5 CV model had a four-cylinder engine with 750 cm³ displacement . Due to its low weight of 350 kg, this model was classified as a cycle car .

In 1924 the range consisted of the following models:

  • AR, two-cylinder two - stroke engine with 525 cm³ displacement in the rear
  • P2, two-cylinder two-stroke engine with 750 cm³ displacement in the bow
  • P3, three-cylinder two-stroke engine with 1125 cm³ displacement in the bow

In 1925 the AR model got a larger engine with 636 cm³ displacement, and the P2 and P3 models received four-stroke engines . From 1926 four-cylinder four-stroke built-in engines from Chapuis-Dornier with 930 cm³ and 1035 cm³ displacement were used.

Benjamin brand vehicles can be seen in several automobile museums, mostly in France.

Benova

From 1927 the vehicles were marketed under the name Benova . In addition to the four-cylinder models, a model with an eight-cylinder in - line engine was also produced by SCAP with a capacity of 1402 cc, the capacity of which was increased to 1996 cc in 1929.
