Véhicules Électriques Stéla was a French manufacturer of automobiles and commercial vehicles .

Company history

Hubert Pascal founded the company in Villeurbanne in 1941 and began producing automobiles. The brand name was Stéla . Automobile production ended in 1944. Commercial vehicles were made until 1948. Stéla stands for S ervice de la T raction É lectrique L égere à A ccumulateur.

The company only manufactured electric cars because gasoline was hardly available in France during World War II . Among other things, there was the RCA model , a four-door, five-seat sedan .

A vehicle of this brand can be seen in the Musée Henri Malartre in Rochetaillée-sur-Saône .
