Talbot-Darracq was a French car brand.

Company history

Darracq from Suresnes took over Clement Talbot in 1919 and used the brand name Talbot-Darracq until 1920 for passenger cars from French production and until around 1930 for racing cars. After the merger with Sunbeam to form the Sunbeam Talbot Darracq Group (STD) in 1920, Automobiles became Talbot .

revival

Talbot-Darracq T150C (1936)

After the collapse of the STD group in 1935, large parts of the production facilities in Great Britain, including the trademark rights, went to the Rootes group . The businessman Anthony Lago exercised a right of first refusal for the facilities in Suresnes, but was no longer able to sell his vehicles in Great Britain under the Talbot brand. It was agreed that the name Talbot-Darracq would be used instead. The program consisted of six-cylinder models with 14 tax horsepower (2.5 liters), 16 HP (3 liters) and 20 CV (4 liters). Technically, these vehicles corresponded to the corresponding French Talbot and they had a similar logo. This arrangement was in place until 1939
