Automobiles MS was a French manufacturer of automobiles and engines.

Company history

Messrs Morain and Sylvestre founded in 1922 in Sèvres , the company Automobiles MS , the MS for M Orain and S ylvestre stood. In the same year, the company supplied two-cylinder engines from its own production to Delfosse et Cie . In 1923 the production of own automobiles began. For this purpose there was a collaboration with the Société A. Marguerite from Courbevoie . When the company went bankrupt in 1924 , Messrs. Martin and Blanco took over the company, renamed it Société Nouvelle des Automobiles MS and moved the company to Suresnes . The company produced a total of around 60 vehicles. Production ended in mid-1925. Delfosse et Cie took over the company.

Automobiles MS used a Marguerite chassis for its vehicles . It was a conventional chassis with a front engine and rear-wheel drive .

engine

The first model had either a two-cylinder engine from our own production with 996 cm³ displacement or a two-cylinder engine from Train with 995 cm³ displacement. In the later models, four-cylinder engines from Chapuis-Dornier with either 900 cm³, 961 cm³, 1093 cm³ or 1095 cm³ displacement were used. The vehicle exhibited at the Geneva Motor Show in 1924 had a four-cylinder engine with 59 mm bore , 102 mm stroke and 1095 cm³ displacement.

body

Automobiles MS produced complete vehicles from the chassis, various engines and their own bodies. A special feature was an open touring car with wickerwork.

mass and weight

The chassis of the vehicle from 1924 had a 270 cm wheelbase , 117 cm track width and weighed 300 kg. The complete vehicle cost 4400 Swiss francs .

Sales organization

The vehicles were marketed by Automobiles MS under the brand name MS .
