Automobiles Th. Schneider was a French manufacturer of automobiles and tractors .

Company history

Théophile Schneider (1862–1932), one of the founders of Rochet-Schneider , founded the company for the production of cars in Besançon in 1910 . The brand name was Th. Schneider . Occasionally the vehicles were also referred to as Théo Schneider and Théophile Schneider . Technical director until 1923 was Louis Ravel, who previously headed Automobiles Louis Ravel . The annual production in the years up to 1914 was about 200 vehicles. Automobile production ended in 1929. Tractors were manufactured until 1939 and sold under the brand name SADIM .

Mostly models with valveless four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines were produced, which were also used in races until 1914. In 1914 the range consisted of seven four-cylinder models with displacements between 1800 cm³ and 6100 cm³ and a six-cylinder model with 3200 cm³.

After the First World War , the previous models continued to be produced, including the 10 CV model from 1922 with 2000 cc displacement. In 1926 a small car with 1170 cm³ displacement, called VL (voiture légère), followed.

Vehicles of this make can be seen in the Museo de Historia de la Automoción in Salamanca and in the Musée Henri Malartre in Rochetaillée-sur-Saône .
