Vinot et Deguingand was a French manufacturer of automobiles and bicycles .

Company history

Lucien-Marie Vinot-Préfontaine (1858–1915) and Albert Deguingand (1872–1943) founded the bicycle production company in Puteaux in 1898 . Automobile production began in 1901. The brand name was Vinot & Deguingand . One source indicates that from 1907 only the brand name Vinot was used. In 1909 there was cooperation with the Société Gladiator . 650 vehicles were built in 1913.

In 1919 the company moved to Nanterre . Production ended in 1926 due to declining sales. Donnet-Zedel bought the factory in Nanterre. Albert Deguingand founded the new Deguingand company in Puteaux in 1927 .

The first vehicle had a two-cylinder engine with 1500 cc displacement and chain drive. In 1903 the range consisted of the two-cylinder model 10 CV and the four-cylinder models H 14 CV with 3300 cm³ and F 18 CV with 3300 cm³. The 30 CV followed in 1905 with a displacement of 5800 cm³. The first six-cylinder model appeared in 1906 . In 1908 there were the 10/14 CV and 16/24 CV models . In 1910 the 24 CV model followed with a displacement of 4000 cm³, and in 1911 the 12 CV . In 1914 the range consisted of models with 1700 cm³, 2100 cm³, 2600 cm³ and 4200 cm³ displacement.

In 1921 the 11/25 CV model appeared with a displacement of 1800 cm³. In 1922 the BO 15.9 CV appeared , and in 1924 the 12/25 CV with 1800 cm³ displacement.

A vehicle of this brand can be viewed in the Musée des 24 Heures in Le Mans .
