Attractions
The old parish church of Notre-Dame-de-Pitié with stained glass windows dates from the 16th century.
The city has a well-preserved old town with a typically French flair. La Défense , the major urban development project in the west of Paris and one of the largest shopping and business centers in Europe, is mainly located in the municipal area of Puteaux (the rest is in the administrative area of the other two Parisian suburbs Courbevoie and Nanterre ; the central facilities of La Défense, the CNIT and the Arche de la Défense , but are in Puteaux).
Also worth seeing is the local recreation area on the Île de Puteaux, a large Seine island that formerly belonged to the Rothschild banking family (hence also called L'île Rothschild ), which today houses numerous cultural and sports facilities and a rose park.
economy
The city of Puteaux has a long industrial tradition, especially in the automotive ( De Dion-Bouton company ) and aircraft construction sectors . The IT and telecommunications service provider Solutions 30 was founded here and the international advertising agency Havas has its headquarters in Puteaux.
Partnerships
Puteaux is a pioneer of town twinning. The first ties to a partnership developed in 1952 with the German city of Offenbach am Main in the form of youth and sports encounters.
