Company history

Havas emerged from the first French news agency founded in 1835 by Charles-Louis Havas . After his death (1858) continued by his son Auguste Havas (1813-1889), it was converted into a stock corporation in 1879. During the First World War she had a semi-official status.

Havas was bought by Vivendi in 1998 and renamed Vivendi Universal Publishing . The company, which today bears the name Havas, was originally a subsidiary of the old Havas, namely Havas Advertising, which specializes in the communications industry and acquired the naming rights in 2002. It is a holding company based in Puteaux near Paris. In 2004 the group was finally bought by the businessman Vincent Bolloré and has been part of the Bolloré Group ever since .

The globally active Havas Group consists of three core service pillars:

In autumn 2018, an exclusive partnership between Havas Media Group and the social management platform Sprinklr was announced.

Havas Germany

The Havas Group in Germany is divided into the Havas Creative Group (also: Havas Germany with headquarters in Düsseldorf and further branches in Munich and Hamburg, as well as Havas Media with headquarters in Frankfurt. The Meaningful Brands study by the Havas Group is, according to its own statement, the first analysis worldwide that combines the personal / individual well-being of consumers with the strength of a brand on a commercial level and its social commitment. 1,500 brands and more than 300,000 consumers in 33 countries were examined and surveyed. The study records the impact of brands on the well-being of consumers based on twelve different areas, such as health, friends, relationships and financial situation. The study aims to show what consumers expect from companies and where the future opportunities lie.
