Christoph Landolt (2019)

Christoph Landolt (* 1966 in Zurich ) is a Swiss linguist and lexicographer . Since 2019 he has headed the Swiss Idiotikon together with Hans Bickel .

Life

Landolt studied Comparative Germanic Linguistics , Nordic Philology and General History at the University of Zurich . In 1997 he became an editor at the Schweizerischer Idiotikon , of which he was appointed editor-in- chief in 2019. Together with Hans Bickel, he is also the author of Dudens for Swiss High German , a dictionary of the standard language in German-speaking Switzerland, published by the Swiss Association for the German Language . In addition to the Alemannic dialects , he also deals with Yiddish .

Landolt is an associated member of the Zurich Linguistics Center (LiZZ) and a member of the advisory commission of the phonogram archive of the University of Zurich , the nomenclature commission of the Canton of Zurich and the Swiss Duden Committee. He also participates in the Alemannic and German-language Wikipedia .
