J. De Boisse was a French manufacturer of automobiles . Another source does not name this company name.

Company history

The company was based in Paris , specified in a source on the 11th arrondissement . It manufactured automobiles from 1900 to 1904. Several sources agree that De Boisse is the brand name, while another one denotes Denis De Boisse . A source states that Denis de Boisse stopped production in 1904. It remains unclear whether that was one person, several people or a company name. Possible activities of the company before 1900 or after 1904 are not known.

vehicles

The first model was a tricycle . The single cylinder engine was water cooled . It was mounted above the single front wheel and powered it via a chain. It was steered with a long lever. The open body offered space for two people. A vehicle of this type took part in the Paris – Bordeaux car race in 1901 , but did not reach the destination.

In 1902 a conventional four-wheel model appeared. It had a built-in engine from De Dion-Bouton with 6 hp and cardan drive . According to two sources, the rear axle was designed as a De-Dion axle . In 1903 two vehicles of this type took part in the Paris – Madrid car race.

1904 appeared as the last model with a two-cylinder engine from De Dion-Bouton with 12 hp. A source confirms the two-cylinder engine with 12 hp for this model and indicates a patented rear axle.
