The SA des Automobiles Rossel was a French automobile manufacturer .

Company history

In 1903, Frédéric Rossel founded the company F. Rossel et Cie in Montbéliard , which was later renamed SA des Automobiles Rossel . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Rossel . Production ended in 1926. Peugeot took over the company. There was no connection to Édouard Rossel .

In 1903 the 22 CV appeared as the first model with a four-cylinder engine and chain drive. The cylinder bore and piston stroke were identical at 108 mm. The displacement was 3957 cm³. In 1905 there was the 22/26 CV with the same engine and the 28/35 CV with 120 mm bore, 110 mm stroke and 4976 cm³ displacement. In 1906 the 40/50 CV and the 50/65 CV were added. The largest model, 60/80 CV , appeared in 1907 with a six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 12,000 cc. In 1910 there were the models 10 CV , 12 CV with 2651 cm³ displacement and 16 CV . In 1913 the 40 CV with six-cylinder engine and 7464 cm³ displacement was added.

After the First World War , the range consisted of the previous 12 CV and the new four-cylinder model 25 CV with 5500 cm³ displacement. In 1923 a six-cylinder model with a displacement of 3500 cc was added.
