Burlat Frères, Construction de Moteurs Rotatifs et Châssis Automobiles was a French manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Antoine Burlat made an engine in 1904. In 1905 he and his three brothers founded the company in Villeurbanne near Lyon and began manufacturing automobiles. In 1905 a vehicle was shown at the Paris Motor Show . A Coventry company was licensed to manufacture the engine and use it in taxis and airplanes . Automobile production ended in 1907. The Burlat brothers also founded the company CAR for the production of trucks and aircraft engines.

The 1,904-made motor 12/16 CV was a four-cylinder - rotary engine with 2798 cc displacement . This engine was used in automobiles from 1905. The vehicles had the drive concept front engine , cardan shaft and rear wheel drive . In 1905 the 20 CV model was presented with a four-seater touring car body. Three more vehicles were built.
