Automobiles Alcyon was a French manufacturer of bicycles , motorcycles and automobiles .
Company history
Edmond Gentil founded the company in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1890 to manufacture bicycles. In 1902 the production of motorcycles was added. From 1906 cars were also made. From 1912 the company was located in Courbevoie . In 1914 it was renamed Automobiles Alcyon . After the First World War , motorcycle construction was given priority and automobile construction was restricted. In 1928 the production of cars ended. In 1963 motorcycle production also ended.
Automobiles
Initially, voiturettes were created that were also used in motorsport, as well as models with four-cylinder engines . After the First World War, a cycle car was added to the range. It was similar to the Sima-Violet . For driving attended single-cylinder and two-cylinder - two-stroke engines with a maximum of 500 cc engine capacity .
Cars of this brand can be seen in the Musée Henri Malartre in Rochetaillée-sur-Saône and in the Auto Museum Oldtimer in Reninge .
