SA Ariès was a French manufacturer of automobiles and commercial vehicles.

Company history

The SA Ariès from Courbevoie was founded in 1903 by Baron Charles Petiet. In the same year the production of automobiles and trucks began . In 1904 the company employed 95 people. In 1914 the manufacture of aircraft engines was added under license from Hispano-Suiza . Automobile production ended in 1938.

Automobiles

The first models had four-cylinder built -in engines , initially from Aster and later mainly from De Dion-Bouton . A six-cylinder model followed in 1908 . After the First World War , only four-cylinder models were produced. The last new model was the 10 CV Super from 1934. In the 1930s, Ariès obtained most of its bodies from Antem .

A vehicle of this brand can be seen in the Manoir de l'Automobile in Lohéac .
