The Société Parisienne E. Couturier et Cie was a French manufacturer of bicycles and automobiles .
Company history
M. Renard founded the bicycle production company in Paris in 1876 . It seems that as early as 1894 experiments were carried out with a compressed air car ; one of these was registered with the starting number 52 for the Paris-Rouen race in 1894 , but did not appear at the start. The construction of small cars began in 1899 . The brand name was Parisienne . Production ended in 1903.
vehicles
The first models, called Victoria Combination , were equipped with built-in motors from Aster or De Dion-Bouton . The special thing about the vehicles was the front-wheel drive and the steering, because the entire front end was steered. About 400 copies were made by 1901.
Conventional vehicles were built from 1901. The models had an Aster engine that was located in the bow and powered the rear wheels by means of a cardan shaft. There was a choice of engines with 5 HP and 6.5 HP. The Duc-Spider and Duc-Tonneau body styles offered space for two or four people.
Vehicles of this brand can be seen in the Musée Automobile de Vendée in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire and in the Technical Museum in Stockholm .
