The Société des Anciens Établissements Georges Richard was a French automobile manufacturer from Ivry-Port , a suburb of Paris .

Company history

The brothers Georges Richard and Maxime Richard founded the company in 1897. In 1901 they hired the automobile designer Henri Brasier. When Henri Brasier gained more influence, they founded the new Richard-Brasier company together in early 1903 .

The company initially manufactured vehicles based on the Benz Velo . From 1900 models with a front engine followed under license from Vivinus . Brasier developed new two-cylinder and four-cylinder models , but these were not manufactured by the successor company until 1903.
